Overview

How it works

Apple packhouses in Himachal, Kashmir, and the hill belts move large volumes in a short harvest window, and sorting by hand simply can't keep pace. This line takes that pressure off the crew — apples ride across a roller bed into a grading section that separates them by size in a single pass, so one or two operators keep output where a dozen hand-sorters used to.

FAQs

Common questions.

How many size grades can the machine sort into?

Most configurations run 4 to 8 size bands, set to match what your buyers ask for.

Will it handle Kashmiri, Himachali, and imported apple varieties equally well?

The roller spacing adjusts to fruit size rather than variety, so local hill-belt apples and larger imported ones all run through the same setup.

What's the power connection needed?

Motor size scales with configuration — from 2 HP on the smallest setup up to 15 HP on the largest, all running on a standard 3-phase, 440V supply.

How often does the machine need servicing?

Rollers and bearings should be checked each season before harvest starts; day-to-day, a wipe-down after each shift is normally all it needs.

Can the capacity be increased later if our volume grows?

The line is built in modular sections, so extending lane length or adding a second grading bank is possible without replacing the whole unit.

How does this compare to sorting apples by hand?

A hand-sorting crew of eight to ten workers is typically replaced by one or two operators running the machine, at several times the throughput.
