This machine floats apples through a water flume fitted with spray jets, then lifts them out on an incline conveyor straight into grading — cleaning fruit in bulk without the scratching that repeated hand-washing tends to cause.

How much water does this use compared to hand-washing?

Does washing happen before or after grading?
Before — the incline conveyor carries washed apples directly into the grading line, so dirt and dust don't interfere with size and colour reading further down.
